Assuming you have all the necessary materials, sewing your own Hands Suitcase is not difficult. Simply follow these steps:
Step 1. Cut two pieces of fabric, one for the front and one for the back, each measuring 18 inches by 22 inches.
Step 2. With the wrong sides of the fabric facing each other, sew the two pieces together along the 18-inch side.
Step 3. Turn the fabric right-side out and press the seam flat.
Step 4. Fold down the top edge of the fabric by 1 inch and press again.
Step 5. Sew a hem along the folded edge.
Step 6. To make the handles, cut two strips of fabric measuring 2 inches by 22 inches.
Step 7. Fold the strips in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and press.
Step 8. Open up the folds and fold each long edge into the center crease. Press again.
Step 9. Fold the strips in half once more and press. Sew along both long edges of the handles.
Step 10. Attach the handles to the bag by sewing them onto the back piece of fabric, about 4 inches from each side seam.
Step 11. To make the lining, cut two pieces of fabric measuring 18 inches by 22 inches. Sew these pieces together along the 18-inch side, just as you did for the outer fabric.
Step 12. Place the outer fabric bag inside the lining, wrong sides together. Sew around the top edge of the bag, leaving a 3-inch opening for turning.
Step 13. Turn the bag right-side out through the opening in the lining. Press the seam flat and hand sew the opening in the lining closed.
Your Hands Suitcase is now complete!
