Easy and eye-catching wall hanging using Woolen thread and Popsicle sticks.
Looking for a quick and easy DIY project that will add a touch of whimsy to your home décor? This wall hanging is just the thing! Made with inexpensive supplies that you probably already have around the house, this project can be completed in an afternoon. So gather up your supplies and let’s get started!
What You’ll Need
– 2 wooden dowels, 36″ long each
– 1 yard of cotton fabric (any pattern or color will do!)
– Scissors
– Hot glue gun & glue sticks
– Twine or string
– Tape measure or ruler
Instructions
Step 1. Start by measuring and cutting your fabric into two 18″x36″ rectangles. If you want your wall hanging to be extra full, you can cut your fabric into three 12″x36″ rectangles instead.
Step 2. Next, use hot glue to attach the dowels to the top corners of your fabric rectangles. Be sure to evenly space the dowels so that they are both centered at the top of the fabric. Allow the glue to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Step 3. Once the glue is dry, take one end of each fabric rectangle and fold it over the corresponding dowel, securing it in place with hot glue. Repeat this step for the other end of each fabric rectangle.
Step 4. Now it’s time to add the twine or string hanger! Cut a length of twine that is long enough to comfortably fit over your dowel rods (plus a few extra inches for tying a knot). Hot glue each end of the twine to the back side of one of the dowel rods, making sure that the twine is secured well.
Step 5. Hang your wall hanging on a nail or hook, and enjoy!
